Why Gau Raksha Matters

Cows are more than animals in Hindu tradition — they are revered as "Gau Mata", symbols of prosperity, nourishment, and ecological balance. At Hanuman Yuva Sena, we consider Gau Raksha (Cow Protection) not only a religious duty but a cultural and environmental responsibility.

This initiative focuses on rescuing, rehabilitating, and preserving cows through both direct action and long-term infrastructure like Gaushalas.

Our Core Efforts

1. Cow Rescue Operations

We actively prevent illegal cow transportation and slaughter by:

• Conducting vigilante rescues in coordination with police

• Filing FIRs and RTIs against unlicensed slaughterhouses

• Creating awareness among transporters about legal penalties
  
  

2. Establishment of Gaushalas

To ensure rescued cows have safe refuge, we:

• Build and maintain local Gaushalas with proper veterinary care

• Collaborate with Panchayats and donors to run these shelters

• Train volunteers to manage and maintain cleanliness and food supply
  
  

3. Awareness Campaigns

We organize campaigns to educate the public on:

• Importance of cows in Hindu dharma and Vedic tradition

• Ecological benefits of cow-based farming (gobar gas, compost)

• Legal protections under Indian Constitution and IPC sections
  
  

4. Adopt-a-Cow Programs

We encourage members and patrons to:

• Sponsor cows for monthly feed and care

• Participate in “Gau Seva Diwas”

• Adopt senior or injured cows as personal dharma duty
  
  

5. Legal Advocacy

Our legal cell works to:

• Prevent cow smuggling by filing petitions and RTIs

• Represent individuals and groups legally attacked during rescue

• Push local authorities to crack down on illegal slaughter zones

Recent Impact

• 200+ cows rescued in 2024-25

• 3 Gaushalas currently under active management in Telangana

• 7 FIRs successfully lodged against cow smugglers

• 5000+ people reached through campaigns and awareness events
